Ironman athletes compete in race of their lives
LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – Thousands of athletes from almost all of the states and 16 countries competed in the Ironman Sunday.
The race began at the Ohio River where the athletes started the competition with a swim. According to Mayor Greg Fischer's Facebook page, it took winner Patrick Evoe eight hours and 42 minutes to cross the finish line at Fourth Street Live! in downtown Louisville.
The triathlon includes a two mile swim, a 112 mile bike ride and a 26.2 mile run in just one day.
